Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 1, 2026

Effective Date: October 1, 2026

Brijj ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Brijj mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App" or "Services"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights you have regarding your personal data when you use our App.

Terms of Use

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Registration: your name, email address, password, and, where you sign in with Google, the profile details that provider shares with us (name, email address, and avatar).
  • User Profile & Content: the profile details you build, such as your headline, company, role, city, bio, interests, and work history, along with your profile photo, forum posts and comments, poll votes, and the introductions, connection requests, and messages you send to other members.
  • Communications: information you provide when you contact us, send feedback, report a problem, or respond to a survey.
  • Payment Information: Brijj does not sell in-app goods or subscriptions, so we do not collect or store payment card details.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: how you interact with Brijj, including the profiles you view, the suggestions you pass on, the connections you confirm, your search queries, and the features you use.
  • Device Information: device type and model, operating system version, browser type, unique device or browser identifiers, network information, and language preferences.
  • Coarse Location Data: your IP address is used to estimate your general location at city or country level. Brijj does not collect precise GPS location.
  • Cookies and Local Storage: we use browser storage technologies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not run third-party advertising trackers in the app.

C. Information From Third Parties

  • Third-Party Logins: if you register or sign in with Google, we receive the profile information you authorize that platform to share, such as your name, email address, and avatar.
  • Service Providers: the infrastructure and AI providers that operate parts of Brijj may process limited information on our behalf, as described in Section 3.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following business and commercial purposes:

  • Provide & Maintain the App: create your account, suggest people who match what you are looking for, deliver introductions and connection requests, and enable messaging between members.
  • Personalize Experience: recommend members, prompt suggestions for your profile, and draft introductions that reflect what you have told us you are looking for.
  • Safety & Security: monitor for spam, abuse, fraudulent activity, and violations of our terms so the community stays safe.
  • Analytics & Improvements: diagnose technical problems, understand how Brijj is used, and develop new features.
  • Communications: send account notifications, security alerts, and product updates about Brijj. You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time.
  • Legal Compliance: comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, and lawful requests.

3. How Your Information Is Shared

A. Publicly Shared Content

Your profile details, forum activity, and the connections you choose to confirm are visible to other Brijj members, in line with the choices you make in the app. Conversations you have with another member are private to the two of you.

B. Service Providers

We share information with trusted vendors who perform services on our behalf, including:

  • Cloud hosting, storage, and infrastructure providers
  • Authentication providers, such as Google sign-in
  • AI service providers that power matching suggestions and introduction drafts
  • Analytics and performance measurement tools

C. Business Transfers

If Brijj is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, member information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

D. Legal Requirements & Safety

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent physical harm or financial loss, protect the safety and security of our members or the public, or enforce our terms of service. We never sell or rent your personal information.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR / EEA & UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for collecting and using your personal data depend on the context:

  • Contract Performance: processing is necessary to perform our contract with you, such as providing the app's services and your account.
  • Consent: where you have given explicit consent, for example to sync your contacts or to use your device's camera for a QR code or profile photo. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate Interests: processing for safety, security, platform analytics, and improving our services, provided these do not override your rights.
  • Legal Obligation: processing required to comply with applicable laws.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with Brijj.

  • Account Deletion: if you delete your account, your profile data, posts, and personal information will be permanently removed or anonymized within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legitimate legal, safety, or regulatory reasons.
  • Backups: residual copies may remain in encrypted backup systems for up to 90 days before being overwritten.
  • Messages: conversations are stored only in encrypted form. When you delete your account, the encrypted message records associated with it are removed.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access & Portability: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Correction: request that we update or correct inaccurate personal data. You can also edit most of your profile directly in the app.
  • Deletion ("Right to be Forgotten"): request deletion of your account and its associated personal information through Settings in the app or by contacting us.
  • Opt-Out of Marketing: unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link provided in the email, or through your notification preferences.
  • Device Permissions: revoke camera, microphone, photo library, or notification access at any time through your device's operating system settings.
  • Do Not Sell / Share My Personal Data (California and other US state residents): we do not sell personal information for monetary value, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@yourbrijj.com.

7. Protection of Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Brijj is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or 16 in certain European jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under these ages.

If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under the required minimum age without verified parental consent, we will delete that information and the associated account immediately. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact privacy@yourbrijj.com.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical, administrative, and physical security measures designed to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including encryption in transit and at rest. Conversations between members are additionally end-to-end encrypted, which means messages are stored in encrypted form and we cannot read them.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or mobile network is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your home country, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on legally approved mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to protect your information.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting an in-app notice and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy, and by sending an email notification where appropriate.

Your continued use of Brijj following notification of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
